Bangladesh Team to Participate in 27th International Robot Olympiad in Australia

The Bangladesh team will participate in the 27th International Robot Olympiad (IRO), scheduled to be held from December 17 to 21 at the Gold Coast, Australia. The 10-member team will leave the country on December 14. The team is sponsored by Bangladesh’s Ministry of Information and Communication Technology and the Department of Information and Communication Technology.

This year, the national selection process was organized by the Bangladesh Open Source Network, with online preliminary rounds held from August 29 to 30 and the national rounds conducted at the University of Asia Pacific in Dhaka from September 12 to 13. Winners in the Creative Movie, Creative Category, and Physical Computing Category were analyzed based on their skills, performance, and other criteria during the international team selection camp to choose the team for the International Robot Olympiad.

  • Mohammad Zarif Bin Salek, Khondokar Mushfiqul Islam, and Mohammad Mashrur Arefin Bhuiyan – Dhaka Residential Model College

  • Nusiba Tajrin Tanisha – WBC Higher Secondary Girls’ School

  • Zaima Jahin Wara – William Carey Academy

  • Priyonti Das – Scholastica School

  • Ridwan Rabbani – Ideal School & College

  • Mohammad Abdullah Al Titu – Anand Mohan College

  • Team Leader: A A Munir Hasan, President of Bangladesh Open Source Network

  • Dr. Lafifa Jamal, Professor of Robotics and Mechatronics Engineering at Dhaka University, will participate as a member of the Central Committee of the International Robot Olympiad.

Bangladesh has been participating in this competition since 2018. Over the past seven years, the team has won a total of 83 medals, including 14 gold medals at the International Robot Olympiad.
